Problem

What was broken, and for whom?

The Federation of Syrian Chambers of Tourism had no single official place online to show who it is, what its chambers and members do, and what it's working on. News, announcements, member details and partner information were scattered. Nobody had a reliable way to check whether someone really held an FSCT membership card.

The goal: give the federation a trusted, fully bilingual (Arabic and English) public home that explains its mission, lists its chambers and members, publishes news, and verifies membership cards. Non-technical staff also needed to be able to update all of it without touching code.

Stakeholders

Who else has to be satisfied, and what do they need?

  • Federation leadership and board: need a credible, professional public image and full control over the message. Board members need their own profiles.
  • Regional tourism chambers: each needs its own page, description, contact details and member list, so it's represented fairly within the federation.
  • Chamber members and card holders: need accurate profiles listing their businesses. Their membership card has to be checkable in seconds, without their name being exposed in the URL.
  • Partners, sponsors and advertisers: need visible placement (hero logo scroller, featured partners, ad carousel) and a detail page with their contact info and gallery.
  • Admin and office staff: need a simple dashboard in their own language. They shouldn't have to deal with databases, file formats or translations by hand.
  • Developers and maintainers: need safe deployments, which means being able to back up the live database and uploaded files before pushing a new version.

Target user

Who uses this on a normal day?

  • Public visitors: tourism business owners, investors, travellers, journalists and government contacts. They read Arabic or English to learn about the federation, find a chamber or member, read news, or get in touch. A smaller but important group is people who scan a QR code on a member's FSCT card to confirm it's real.
  • Federation admin staff: they log into the dashboard to publish news and announcements, update chambers and members, issue membership cards, manage partners, and answer contact messages.

Core features

What it actually does. One line each is enough.

  • Bilingual site: full Arabic and English, with right-to-left and left-to-right layouts and a language switch that keeps you on the same page.
  • Admin dashboard: every public section can be edited, per language, without any code.
  • Chambers directory: each regional chamber has its own page, contact details and member list.
  • Member profiles: portrait, position, bio, contact details and linked businesses.
  • Federation board page: profiles of the federation's own leadership.
  • FSCT membership card verification: each card holder gets a QR-ready page behind a random, unguessable token.
  • News and announcements: articles with cover images, galleries, categories, and the option to feature them on the home page.
  • Partners and sponsors: a partner grid, detail pages, home page features and a hero logo scroller.
  • Advertisement carousel: promoted slides on the home page.
  • Contact form: messages are saved to an admin inbox and sent as email notifications, with spam protection.
